Rose hip:
The rosehips used in Snoremark's apple frond are collected from the beaches of Roskilde Fjord. The rosehip was introduced to Denmark as a decorative plant in the 17th century. It was soon widespread in the countryside, especially along the coasts, where it found good growing conditions.
Today it's considered an intrusive species, but the bold red berries are packed with good qualities and lovely flavor. Now let's make the best of it.
The rosehip was already used as a medicinal plant in ancient Greece. At that time, the fruits of the rosehip were used against rabies. Later, rosehip was used as a coolant and to treat inflammation. Today it is known that the red berries are rich in vitamins A and C and some minerals. It has not been scientifically proven to have any healing properties as mead, but we can guarantee that it has a calming effect on the soul and mood.
